Terms of Service
Effective July 22, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of SipReceipt, the iOS app. By creating an account, you agree to these terms.
The service
SipReceipt is a water reminder application. It sends you sip reminders to drink water, lets you verify a sip using your device camera, and tracks your completed sips and streaks.
SipReceipt is a habit-building tool, not a medical device or a source of medical advice. It does not measure your actual hydration levels or diagnose any condition.
Eligibility
By creating an account, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate. If you are under the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, use SipReceipt only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. Subscription purchases require a payment method authorized by an adult.
Camera and sip verification
Sip verification uses your device camera, and all analysis runs entirely on your device to estimate whether you are present and drinking. No images are captured or uploaded. Verification is optional and only runs when you choose to verify a sip. Results are probabilistic: a genuine sip may occasionally fail, and the system may occasionally accept an ambiguous moment. Verification is intended to keep your hydration habit honest, not to serve as a legally reliable record of your behavior.
You agree not to deliberately attempt to deceive the verification system. We may adjust, pause, or improve the verification feature at any time. How camera frames are handled is described in our Privacy Policy.
Subscription and billing
Free trial
New accounts include a 3-day free trial with full access to every feature. If you do not start a subscription or purchase the lifetime unlock by the end of the trial, access to the app is paused until you do.
Plans
SipReceipt is a paid app; there is no free tier. After the trial, continued use requires a subscription (monthly or annual) or a one-time lifetime purchase. All plans include the same features. Prices are displayed at checkout and on the pricing page.
Billing on iOS
Subscriptions are managed through Apple In-App Purchase. Billing, renewals, and cancellations are subject to Apple's terms. Your subscription renews automatically until cancelled. You can manage it from your iPhone's Settings app.
Cancellation
You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; access continues until that date, after which the app is paused until you subscribe again. iOS refund requests are handled by Apple.
Price changes
We may change subscription prices. We will notify you at least 30 days before a price change affects your account.
Your data
You own the hydration data you create in SipReceipt. We store it solely to provide the service. When you delete your account, your data is permanently removed within 30 days. See our Privacy Policy for full details, including how camera frames are handled.
Acceptable use
SipReceipt is for personal hydration tracking. You agree not to use the service to:
· Violate any applicable law or regulation
· Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
· Interfere with or disrupt the service for other users
· Use automated scripts or bots to fake verifications or interact with the service
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Verification technology
Sip verification runs on-device using camera-based detection. It is best-effort and probabilistic, and its results may be inaccurate. You are responsible for your own hydration and health decisions; a passing or failing verification is not a medical assessment. Verification features are provided “as is” and may be modified, paused, or removed at any time.
No medical advice
SipReceipt encourages a hydration habit but does not provide medical advice. Individual hydration needs vary. Consult a qualified healthcare professional about your specific needs, and do not rely on SipReceipt for any medical decision.
Limitation of liability
SipReceipt is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that verification will always be accurate. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SipReceipt's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be submitted to binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except where prohibited by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
